DAYS 297-300: Cape Charles to Deltaville

Cape Charles to Deltaville: 8.7 mph; 32.6 miles; 3:44 hours

Crossing the Bay to Deltaville was MUCH calmer - thank you Chesapeake Bay.

The Bay, along the Virginia side from Norfolk to the Potomac, is full of marinas and anchorages - just pick one and explore the area. These little towns are quiet and full of history. White Stone Virginia is always close to my heart and full of adventure. My parents had a little cottage on the beach and I explored all day. I loved that little house. Reedsville has a fantastic museum that everyone should see.

Deltaville

Safe Harbor Stingray Point Marina: $2/ft (plus electric) with water, showers/bathrooms, coin-operated laundry, and a pool. We are surrounded by sailboats; this is good for us because a storm is coming in and we aren’t the tallest boat in the marina - a lesson learned from Tom's River. There isn't anything nearby and the staff is fabulous; so, if you need anything - just ask fro help.

Hyco House Manor

A big THANK YOU to ATO Mark Lenz for making our anniversary special with an authentic Indian meal and a great Honeymoon Suite at Hyco House! He also gave us use of a Hyco truck while we're here (made provisioning so much easier). Spending time with Lenz, and seeing what he is up to, is always a great time - he’s up to everything! The Hyco House is really beautiful and will support so many future weddings and events. We met Tabitha/Joe, and Kelly -  - Mark has assembled a solid team to make his plans come alive. We will have to come back to ‘little Orleans’ in the near future.

LEVI!

The Hons brought Levi to Deltaville so he could travel with us the last leg of our journey. What a great kid, love time with a Hon kid.
